FAQ: Rumble Go | Portable Cold Brew Coffee Maker
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

Why is cold brew so hot right now?

Because it tastes good! Here’s how we described it for Rumble Jar, and this still holds in the age of Rumble Go:

“The reason cold brew has become so popular is because a lot of folks find it just plain-old tastes better. The secret is that cold water extracts ~70% less acid from the coffee grounds than hot water (plus it also pulls out fewer alkaline solubles), which means that your coffee ends up tasting a lot less sour and bitter. #science

So if you’re new to cold brew, get ready to enjoy a smoother, sweeter flavor of coffee.”

What is your international shipping policy?

Our shipping costs do not include customs fees or taxes. Sorry about that! We unfortunately don’t have the capability to estimate these charges ahead of time for each country, especially in today’s age where it’s become wildly unpredictable. So, international backers…please just make sure you take into account any additional fees and taxes charged by customs in your country, as well as for ensuring the imported product complies with your local laws. Thanks so much for your understanding!

Can I back the campaign so I can get more than 2 bottles/filters?

Sure can! Just send us a message and we’ll tell you how to do a custom pledge amount so that you can get more than two bottles/filters. Thanks!

Can you tell me more about how the two fill lines on the filter work?

Since all these water bottles have different dimensions and different capacities, combined with the fact that the Rumble Go filter has a capacity that varies with its height, the fill lines will mean something different from bottle to bottle. We think of them as an easy way to eyeball the grounds when you can’t measure precisely, kind of like a loose Min and Max. Folks with smaller bottles (16-20oz) might generally be nearer to the bottom line, and folks with bigger bottles (25-32oz) might generally be nearer to the upper line. But everyone’s taste profile is different so we want to encourage folks to experiment with it to find the right level for themselves and the bottle they’re using.

Will this filter fit in the Mason jar I have from Rumble Jar ?

Unfortunately the dimensions are fairly different between the two types of vessels. Those Rumble Jar mouths are about an inch wider than these bottles’, which means the new filter won’t be flush with the walls of the mouth and might rattle around inside the jar. The filter is also slightly too tall when adjusted to its lowest setting, although it could technically be squeezed into the jar. But it’s not ideal and would end being a sub-optimal Rumble experience.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
