Latest Updates from Our Project:

Goooaaaallll! Now let's literally up the ante with stretch goal #2...
over 5 years ago – Fri, Oct 12, 2018 at 09:39:01 PM

Folks,

How about a bit of Friday afternoon good news to bring in the weekend? Rumble Go just snuck past $20K, which means stretch goal #1 has been unlocked and you've officially got a third choice of bottle color! And please keep reading/scrolling because below we're also announcing stretch goal #2.

Reminder that we left it up to you the people to vote on this third color, and by a whopping TWO whole votes, Purple beat out Coral. So we're pleased to formally introduce you to your third 20oz bottle color option, now and forever known as "People's Purple":

Bottle color option #3: People's Purple
Bottle color option #3: People's Purple

Announcing Stretch Goal #2: $30K unlocks an XL filter

We're not at all done stretching here. We've got 1 week left, and we've got a bigger idea (literally & figuratively) for our next stretch goal:

If we reach $30K, we'll build a bigger, XL filter

Every backer will get the option to choose between the current, normal-sized filter or the new, XL version.

Why an XL filter?

You might have seen that our current filter is designed to fit the most popular 16-32oz wide-mouth bottles, since that's what most folks carry with them. But what if you want to make a bigger batch of cold brew than that (say, for 2-3 people), or what if you already own the bigger-sized bottle? Well, by lengthening the metal filter by an additional 1.5", the XL filter will end up fitting a bunch of bigger bottles that hold greater than 32oz. That means bottles like the 40oz versions offered by CamelBak, Hydro Flask and Klean Kanteen, and even their 64oz versions! Want to make a half gallon of cold brew while you're out camping with the fam? Go for it!

The XL filter will also unlock a whole host of other bottle brands like Contigo that have tall-and-narrow bottle profiles, which require a taller filter even for their sub-32oz versions. We just want to make sure as many people can transform their favorite water bottles into coffee makers, and hopefully this new taller version will help us out with that!

But again, this campaign needs to hit $30K first

And that's where you all come in. For starters, sharing on Facebook will help.

But what we really, really need is you the people to blast this out to anyone you know who writes about relevant stuff (some ideas below), because one good PR piece will get us to $30K.

So...do you have friends who write for tech publications, or friends who write about outdoor stuff (that Outside magazine article was huge for our campaign...more like that please!), or people who write about new products or are interested in crowdfunding or coffee or even like the idea that we're building one of the more eco-friendly coffee makers out there, or even people who blast "millennial" stuff like cold brew coffee. Anything will do! We just need to get the word out there, and our backers do that better than we do.

So that's the end of our plea. Let's hope it can get us to $30K because we'd love to see this XL filter become a reality!

Halfway point: Outside Mag showing us some serious love, and we're still stretching!

Rumblers,

This campaign is at its halfway point! Now let's get it to the $20K stretch goal, lock in that third bottle choice, and move on to another, bigger, badder stretch goal that we've got planned and would love to introduce.

Outside Magazine totally gets us!

Outside featured Rumble Go in a great writeup yesterday. It was a roundup of October's best gear-related Kickstarter projects, and they really hit on something we've been trying to preach to the outdoor-focused crowd: cold brew is the easiest coffee-making method outside the home because there's no need for heat. Check it out:

Great quote: "In the morning, your cold-brew coffee is ready to drink the moment you get out of bed or your sleeping bag, so you don’t have to fumble around to boil water."

Stretch goal reminder: Get out the vote!

Reminder that at $20K, we release a third bottle color. That color choice is entirely up to you. We've already heard preferences from a bunch of our backers (huge thanks!), but we want more. Do you wanna see Purple or Coral? Just reply to the comments section of this update or post a comment on the main project page or message us directly...however you feel comfortable making your voice heard!

Speaking of bright-colored bottles...

Our friends helped us out, so now it's our turn to help them out! Before we launched Rumble Go, we reached out to the folks over at Hydaway (they make this rad, collapsible bottle we're extremely jealous of) and they gave us a bunch of tips on our campaign because they've got more experience with silicone drinking gear than we could ever have. So now we're returning the favor and plugging their campaign. Seriously, just watch that gif...

Meet HYDAWAY. The collapsible, ultra-stashable, planet-friendly, go-anywhere way to stay hydrated

Now with more sizes, taste filters, and a streamlined design, the next generation of collapsible bottles from HYDAWAY are better than ever. Made from certified-safe and BPA-free materials, HYDAWAY'S sleek design collapses down to just over 1" for easy stashing. Available in a variety of colors, its hydration that fits your life. Maybe we should get to work on that Rumble x Hydaway cold brew collab!

Stretch goal is here!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 27, 2018 at 09:40:26 AM

Rumblers,

As promised, we're back with our first stretch goal! But before we reveal it, we need to ask you an ultra-quick favor. Can you just head over to our campaign page and click the little Facebook icon to share our campaign? No need to write anything witty in your post if you don't want (but if you prefer to add wit, that's cool too). We're just trying to get this project shared a little more on the book. The screenshot below might help if you're having trouble finding the FB icon on our project page:

Or just head to Facebook and paste this campaign link directly into a post:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rumblejar/rumble-go-portable-cold-brew-coffee-maker

Thanks for all your help spreading the Rumble word!

Now for that stretch goal...

[Kickstarter old hats can skip this paragraph] For our backers who are new to Kickstarter, "stretch goals" are higher fundraising goals that are added in the middle of campaigns to help keep things interesting and keep the crowd engaged after the original goal has been surpassed. If a campaign hits this new stretch goal, then backers get something new (e.g. a new reward choice, a free add-on, etc.). We hit our original $10K goal on Saturday night, so now it's stretch goal time!

New $20,000 stretch goal: we'll be adding one new color choice to our 20oz bottle lineup. Right now we're already offering the Dark Black and Brewberry Blue colors. But we're torn on bottle color option #3, so here's what we're going to do: you backers get to vote on it and figure it out for us! Just shoot us a message or leave a comment to this update or on our project page (backers only...no anonymous randos please), and if/when we reach the $20K funding level, we'll tally up your votes and reveal the third bottle color. So without further ado, here are your two options for bottle color #3: Purple and Coral.

backers' vote on bottle color #3: Purple or Coral?
backers' vote on bottle color #3: Purple or Coral?

So just reply back and tell us which color is better, and we'll reveal the winner when our campaign reaches the $20K stretch goal. Deal?

Thanks, and a reminder to share this project on FB if you're willing!

Gooooooooaaaaallllllllll....and now it's time to stretch
over 5 years ago – Wed, Sep 26, 2018 at 10:17:02 AM

Rumblers,

Apparently we've got a few nighttime coffee drinkers in the mix, because last night the campaign hit our funding goal! That means Rumble Go is officially a thing. And that means the real work begins for us.

But first, coffee. And stretch goals. Yep...it's definitely stretch goal time! For Kickstarter newbies, "stretch goals" are new, higher funding goals where creators add new rewards/options/freebies to keep things interesting and maintain project momentum. Our approach on projects has always been to watch and see how things go during the campaign and what things backers are asking for/interested in, and then we re-evaluate the list of stretch goal ideas we came up with before we launched. So if you have some ideas for stretch goals, feel free to shout em out. Leave a comment below, comment on our project page, write us a message, however you want to do it...we're all ears. We'll then announce them later this week.

Question for our backers: do any of you know any bloggers, writers, websites or press people that would find this campaign interesting or worthy of a look? Can you send them the project link or have them reach out to us? The success of our last campaign (Rumble Jar) was totally word-of-mouth based, but this time around we're making a concerted effort to get a little PR tailwind because we've proven ourselves capable of delivering good products to happy backers, and because Rumble Go could be an interesting topic to certain folks who cover outdoor, homegoods, coffee or environmental (particularly, around re-use) products.

Thanks to you all! We'll be back in touch soon with some fun new stuff.
